Casino Royale is a fantastic film which is based on a novel of the same name. It was produced by Martin Scorsese and Michael Mann and stars Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, Roger Moore as James Bond's partner, Charlotte Lewis as Vesper Lynd, Kevin Spacey as Bond's nemesis Blofeld and Guy Pierce as Dr. No. With the help of a screenplay written by Richard Curtis and John Logan, Casino Royale is an amazing film which combines action with suspense to create one of the best films of the last few years. Casino Royale tells the story of James Bond who goes missing for fifteen years and returns after finding out that he is wanted for questioning in Scotland Yard is now hunting for him.
Bond discovers that his employer, M is very suspicious about the nature of the jobs he is doing. He believes that Bond is going to turn against him and steal from him but this turns out not to be the case. M soon finds out that his wife Evelyn has been involved with a secret meeting in New York called the meeting between old friends. Bond's employer wants to know what exactly took place at the meeting and is willing to hire him to help them out. The main plotline involves James Bond and his relationship with a new woman named Vesper Lynd, who is played by Pierce Brosnan.
Casino Royale is a highly entertaining film, which has many twists and turns that make it a worthwhile film. One of the biggest problems with Casino Royale is that it does not have a very strong plot and the characters are only loosely linked together and Bond becomes too much of a mystery to make the audience understand him. Despite this the film is an excellent film and is well worth watching. If you like action packed movies then Casino Royale should be added to your DVD collection.
